Delhi Comparatists (DC) was initiated by a group of students and faculty members of the Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies, University of Delhi, as a platform for those who are interested and engaged in comparative studies. Through its decade-long journey, the DC has become a larger group of scholars sharing its vision with respect to literary and cultural studies. The approach of the group is to treat Indian literary culture as a pluralistic epistemology. The thrust areas are history and concept of comparative Indian literature, theory, multiple clusters of interrelatedness, literary historiography, gender issues, transmediality, migration and border studies, and electronic literature. Methodologically speaking, perspectives on margino-centricism and social epistemology, on material aspects of literary studies and dense archives are characteristic of DC’s approach.
