This group is working on various aspects of Translation Studies, including coordinating practical translations. The current project of this group is coordinating translations of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s poem ‘Bidrohi’ (1922) in 100 different Indian languages in collaboration with Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol. The project goes beyond the languages included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India and recognized by Sahitya Akademi. It provides a platform and facilitates translators working in less visible languages of India to share their ideas and collaboratively think about challenges of translation in the present context. It is an experiment in developing theoretical insights and methodological framework for parallel multilingual translations involving different language groups.
