Digital Humanities is about bringing digital tools to answer the questions posed by traditional humanities and vice versa, that is, using the critical thinking associated with traditional humanities to engage with digital objects/artifacts. Seeking to carry forward the work of the Indian Digital Humanities community, the group questions the ideological motives of the archivist and the dangers of defaulting to English and the significance of the multilingual approach when it comes to the practice of DH in India. The purpose of this group is to explore different areas of this field and to give participants a hands-on approach to doing Digital Humanities in India.
